The 3-way magnetically shielded MCS1 is the big brother to the SCS4, providing similar tonal characteristics but with greater output capability. The midrange/tweeter assembly in the MCS1 is one of Jim Thiel’s most groundbreaking designs, utilizing a single voice coil for both output devices resulting in extremely low distortion. The MCS1 is larger and heavier than the SCS4, but is also ideally suited for either vertical or horizontal, shelf or stand placement. A wonderful match for both music and movie soundtrack applications, the MCS1 is perfect for main, center, or rear channel use.

Exquisitely hand-crafted in Belgium by Jan Allaerts. Only a small number of these cartridges are created every year and each one is manufactured as a precision instrument, housed in gold enclosures and presented in jewel boxes. Seldom seen on the 2nd hand market!

Still in pristine condition and lightly used. As can be seen in the pics, the cantilever is very clean and stylus tip still in very good shape. Comes with original box.

The CFz step-up transformer uses the same winding technique as the top model KSL-SFz, using copper instead of silver wiring. The transformer core is also the same KSL-SFz model.

Signal output is direct with minimum connections. 1m KSL-VcII copper interconnect is used as output cable. The chassis is made of pure copper to guarantee good isolation from EMI and RFI, and also to provide better tonal quality.
