The Donizetti Anniversary power amplifier is a high-powered stereo amp and with its 250W on 8Ω, that double by halving the impedance, Donizetti is able to drive any speaker perfectly. The Klangmeister AK-1 is a transformer-coupled tube preamp using 1 pair of vintage Sylvania 7044 and Siemens C3m vacuum tubes. The volume control is a Tokyo OK-On resistor type volume attenuator. Unique to behold, the Sparta is essentially two complete turntables—each including a skeletal, metal-framed plinth fabricated of solid aluminum boards with phenolic inserts—one situated immediately above the other. Both hang freely from the same, patented, four-post, pillar suspension system.

The dual-platters, spinning in opposite directions and driven by separate motors solve the problem of “torsional forces”, that are inherent in typical spring suspended sub platter ‘tables where the sub platter frame rotates in synch with the platter. In other words, as the platter spins, it produces frame movement because no platter, no matter how carefully balanced, is perfectly balanced.

While these torsional forces can be damped, Kronos completely eliminates torsional forces in its suspended designs, thus providing the isolation suspended ‘tables can provide, without the torsional movement downside.

The Nottingham Spacedeck turntable is an exceptionally harmonious and musical component. Its heavy turntable made of cast metal is additionally dampened by rubber straps. A standard neoprene plate support effectively decouples the LP. The smooth-running drive motor is decoupled next to the drive, but visually forms a unit with the chassis. The tonearm base is acoustically optimized and offers space for tonearms from 9 inches to 12 inches.

The Nottingham Ace Space arm is a unipivot design that uses side stabilizer bars and tiny ball bearing chases to maintain azimuth. Nottingham has also developed a proprietary damping material the viscosity of which is such that it does not flow and does not require “settling time”. This material is applied to the center pivot and the stabilizer bars. Nottingham uses carbon fibre tubes with the fibres oriented the length of the tone arm not wrapped around it (like a bandage). This greatly increases the strength, resonance control and rigidity of the arm. Nottingham also uses an unusual headshell design. The headshell has an orientation that is in direct line with the tone arm and not offset in any way. The headshell also has no finger lift. These two features insure that the arm is properly balanced from side to side and that no uncontrolled resonances are running around the headshell.

This arm uses the same long grain carbon fibre tube but also uses a second tube as a liner. This helps dramatically with both rigidity and resonance control. The ACE Space also uses a threaded allen screw to make the selection and adjustment of VTA a simple step.

"Since the clocks in all transports are changing, the SPDIF output also has to change and this is used to control the flow of audio data between a transport and dac. With the WaveLink the clock is fixed and therefore the SPDIF is fixed and this makes the receiver section of any SPDIF connected device to work really well because the internal PLL (Phase Lock Loop) that derives the Audio DATA stream connects at one frequency, locks on and stays there.
